World EXPO 2010 in Shanghai
On the 28th May 2010 Eldbjørg Hemsing will perform the Chinese premier of Tan Dun's new violin Concerto 'The Love' as part of Norway's Day at World EXPO 2010 in Shanghai. Performing at World EXPO 2010 is a huge honour for Eldbjørg Hemsing, who takes on the exciting opportunity to perform a concerto at EXPO China as she represents Norway.
She will be performing the Chinese premiere of a new work, the violin concerto “The Love” by Tan Dun. Tan Dun is China’s most internationally renowned composer and he himself will be conducting this Chinese premiere.
The concert is to be part of the official opening of Norway Day at the EXPO centre in May 2010 and is collaboration between the Trondheim Soloists and the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. Also performing in the concert, which highlights top Norwegian artists, are Secret Garden, Sissel Kyrkjebø and the FRIKAR dance company.
